DESIGN APPROACH
The reconfiguration of the Pedestrian Network will be an effective, seamless & pleasant experience throughout the Museum. The choice of materials and form is a response to respect the surroundings & preserve the heritage while still create a compelling & strong architecture feature.

ASIAN CIVILISATION MUSEUM ENTRANCE
Clad in a perforated panel that reflects the flow of Singapore River, this iconic Entrance fuses the existing opposite characteristics of the surrounding site: Old & New, Tall & Short, Wide & Narrow, Solid & Transparent, Formal & Informal, Dynamic & Static. The new entrance gives ACM a signature “Face” that is both simple & unique in Singapore’s Cityscape. Lighting Effects together with Media Projection on this facade will enliven the whole stretch of the ACM’s River Promenade as well as the opposite bank of Boat Quay.
